AI Chat Exporter ("the extension") is built around one principle: privacy by default. This policy explains, in plain language, what the extension does and does not do with your data.
To export a conversation, the extension reads the content of the conversation you are
viewing on the AI platform's page (currently claude.ai), using your own
already-authenticated browser session. This access happens locally,
only at the moment of export, and only on the active tab.
Exported conversations are saved directly on your device (file
download). The optional Library stores your exports in the browser's own local
database (IndexedDB) on your machine. Extension preferences are kept in local browser
storage (chrome.storage). None of this leaves your computer.
During export, the extension makes no network calls to any server.
The only information ever transmitted is a license key, sent to our payment provider (LemonSqueezy) solely to verify that your Pro license is valid. This key does not contain and is not associated with the content of your conversations. Under no circumstances is a conversation sent over the network.

The extension integrates no third-party services that receive your data. Payment processing is handled by LemonSqueezy, which has its own privacy policy applicable only to payment data — never to your conversations.
The extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated and the new version will be available on this same page.
